Puncture repair or new tyre: which do you need?

Not every puncture means a new tyre, but some do. Here is how we decide whether your tyre can be safely repaired or needs replacing.

When a repair is fine

A nail or screw in the main tread area of the tyre can usually be repaired safely to the recognised standard. These repairs are quick, inexpensive and get you back on the road the same day.

When the tyre must be replaced

Damage to the sidewall, a puncture too close to the edge of the tread, or a tyre that has been driven on flat cannot be safely repaired. In those cases the tyre needs replacing for your safety.

We will always tell you honestly

We would rather do a £15 repair and keep your custom than sell you a tyre you do not need. Bring it in and we will show you exactly what the problem is and give you the straight answer.
