Are part worn tyres safe and legal?

Part worn tyres have a mixed reputation, but a good one, properly inspected, is a safe and legal way to save money. Here is what to know.

They are legal to sell and fit

It is perfectly legal to sell part worn tyres in the UK as long as they meet the required standards, including a minimum tread depth and no dangerous damage.

Inspection is everything

The difference between a good and a bad part worn tyre is whether it has been properly checked. We inspect every tyre inside and out, check the tread, and only fit ones that are safe. A reputable fitter is key.

When they make sense

Part worn tyres are a great option if you are on a budget, running an older car, or need to get safely back on the road for less. When a new tyre is the better buy, we will tell you honestly.
